Jakarta, FORTUNE – The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) stated that the rampant cyber attacks in Indonesia in 2024 will be dominated by three types: ransomware, phishing, and DDoS.

Phishing is a fraud method in which the perpetrator impersonates a trusted entity to obtain personal information, such as passwords or financial data.

 Meanwhile, malware is malicious software designed to damage or access computer systems without authorization. Both threats are becoming increasingly prevalent as digital transactions increase in Indonesia.

Furthermore, in the first quarter of 2024, nearly six million cyberattack threats targeted internet users in Indonesia. This fact demonstrated the importance of awareness and preventive measures against the growing threat of digital crime.

Regarding the importance of increasing public awareness of cyberattacks, Bank Neo Commerce encourages the public to recognize the characteristics of phishing and malware attacks.

Additionally, do not randomly click on links or download attachments from unknown or suspicious messages.

If you receive a message requesting personal or financial information, verify it through official bank channels beforre responding.
